Dear Lectors,
I attach the Lector Schedule for February, in which I have accommodated all the absences over Chinese New Year that have been communicated to me.
NOTE: As in years past, no Lector is scheduled for the Ash Wednesday service both on the Wednesday and on the previous Tuesday evening. We ask any lector attending any of those services to please volunteer yourself as a reader and identify yourself to the priest.
A reminder as usual to:
Wishing you all a good Lent and safe travels for those who are going away during the holidays.
God bless,
Markus
Dear Lectors,
Having read in December, some of you may be reading again in January. You may wonder about the frequency. Due to the extra Christmas and New Year liturgies in December, the requirement for lectors is rather big, and all unassigned lectors are put to service. As a result when January comes around, the rotation of lectors starts again.
By the birth of Christ, God is blessing us all!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Vivian
Thank you to those who volunteered to be lectors on Service Sunday! Training will take place on October 26th and 27th. As all lectors, new and old, are requested to come to at least one session of training, these sessions are also open to current lectors who have not received training before. Please mark your calendars to come to one of these sessions.

The Lector Ministry is calling for volunteers for all Masses. We have a particular shortage of lectors for the 11:15 am Mass and need your help.
If you want to be part of the ministry that proclaims the Word of God, please volunteer and sign up on Service Sunday, or email Markus Shaw at This email address is being protected from spambots. On Sunday, Feb 19, was the continuation of the lector training sessions we provided from last Fall. So far there have been 6 sessions, and 39 lectors of the 55 on the roster have attended. Some lectors have come twice as they have found the training very useful. Two new readers joined us. Lectors are given an overview of the Mass, and the important role the Liturgy of the Word is explained. Lectors are asked to reflect on their roles as the "mouthpiece" of the Word. Markus takes them through the mechanics of good public speaking, and participants practice reading the same passage and are given feedback on their individual readings.
We will continue to provide lector training as some lectors have not attended. The aim of the training is to produce good reading and ultimately raise the quality of the Spoken Word at St. Anne's.
