In response to Cardinal Tong's appeal last weekend for all parishes in Hong Kong to take up a special collection for relief efforts in the Philippines, our parishioners responded in the following manner:
- $49,273 was donated in the second collection at St. Anne's Church;
- $4,130 was donated in a special collection at Parkview;
- Mrs. Rita Liu donated $100,000 through the agency of L & T Foundation;
- Mr. Jeffrey Liu donated $100,000 through the agency of L & T Foundation;
- another parishioner donated $10,000 via check directly to Caritas Hong Kong in the name of Fr. Elmer Wurth and the Parish of St. Anne's.
Therefore, the total known to us that was donated by parishioners for the Cardinal's special appeal is $263,273-- a very generous response from this community of faith!
May the graces that are enabled in the lives of the recipients as a result of these gifts also redound on every individual and family in the parish.
