The Religious Ed Program (CCD-Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Program) at St. Anne’s is operated in accordance with the requirements of the Diocese of Hong Kong. We are one of the few parishes in Hong Kong with an English speaking program that operate classes from Pre-Kindergarten through Confirmation. The teachers and administrators of the program are all members of the Parish who offer their time and talents as volunteers to teach the next generation of Catholics. We use the Blest are We series which is approved by the Council of American Bishops. This program provides a solid foundation of the Catholic Faith and Doctrine. It is our prayer that through this program every child will develop a better appreciation of their faith and learn the joy of being an active Catholic in thought and action.

CCD Updates

CCD families please note the following important upcoming dates:

October 25th, 10:30 am, Parish Hall - Pre-Confirmation Parents meeting

November 1st, 10:00 am, Parish Hall - FHC meeting #1

November 8th, 10:00 am, Parish Hall -  FHC meeting #2 (for those who could not attend meeting 1)

November 15th, 10:00 am, Parish Hall - Confirmation Parents meeting

A friendly reminder for all CCD families who have yet to submit payment, to please do so no later than October 18th.

All FHC families are reminded to submit two passport size photographs of the students, indicating name and DOB on the back of the photograph, by the end of this week please.

All Confirmation students need to submit one passport size photograph by the end of this week as well.

Attention CCD 2014-2015 First Holy Communion and Confirmation families:  Students who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion or Confirmation this past May, and who did not pick up their doves or banners, may still do so until the end of October. These are available in the CCD office on Sundays until the end of the month, after which time they will be discarded.

Gift Bags for the Poor with Sunshine Action

Gift Bags for the Poor with Sunshine Action
Some of St. Anne's Confirmation and Pre-Confirmation students and parents volunteered at Sunshine Action on Saturday, September 5th :

They worked all morning to sort, pack, tie and carry 400 bags containing canned food, rice and noodles.  The large room was packed with about 100 volunteers who altogether packed 4000 bags . It was exhausting work for sure! The reward was knowing that the food bags would be delivered to needy families this weekend. A great service experience for our kids who managed the factory lines well with minimal rest!

CCD Update

We welcome back all CCD students to St. Anne's for another great year of Religious Education. We also welcome all new families who have registered their children, and we look forward to continuing their faith formation in our parish.

A reminder that all new registrations are now closed. Registered families may still update their records and upload required documents, but any new registrations must be pre-approved by the program's director, Paul Munder, who may be contacted at This email address is being protected from spambots. We still need some teachers and encourage parents to participate by assisting with any special events the classes may be having. Please note that the latest CCD calendar is also on the website.

CCD Registration Deadline is Sunday, September 6th

Thank you all who have completed the registration for CCD. 

The cut-off date for any new registrations is this Sunday, September 6.

Classes begin Sunday, September 13 at 10:00am. We are happy to announce that due to the parent volunteers of a few students, we are able to offer a special class on Saturday evenings at 5 pm only for students preparing for First Holy Communion who play rugby on Sundays. This class will begin on Saturday evening, September 12 at 5:00 pm, to enable students and their families to attend the 6:00 pm Mass.

We are still in need of a few teachers and teacher assistant volunteers. Please prayerfully consider participating in this important ministry.

CCD Registration

All CCD families are reminded to complete their registration for classes beginning in September.

Please go to the church's website to complete the registration process and note that you must re-register even if you attended the program this past year.

Registration is considered complete once payment is received, which can be either submitted by mail, handed in to the church office or in person to the CCD team this coming weekend, Saturday, August 22nd from 5:00-5:45PM or Sunday, August 23rd from 10:00-11:00AM in the CCD office.

St. Anne's CCD Program

We are currently building our teaching and administration team for next year. We need teachers, assistant teachers, and teaching assistants.

Come help form our next generation of Catholics. We have an established syllabus.

St. Anne's is the only English-speaking Catholic church in Hong Kong that offers a full curriculum of CCD classes, from Pre K through Confirmation, but we need your help to do this.

First Holy Communion Felt Banner kits are on sale  on March 8th in the church courtyard and in the CCD office during regular Sunday School hours from 9:00 – 11:00 am. They cost HKD 100 each. Cash only please. Banners are due back to their teachers in class on or before April 19th.

Attention CCD Confirmation Parents - Please be reminded of the upcoming requirements:
  • Sunday, March 15th, the students' Saint Reports will be due.
  • Wednesday, March 18th, Confirmation Class will be sponsoring the Way of the Cross that evening at 8:00pm.  The students are all expected to be present and need to be there by 7:45pm.  We will discuss specific roles for this evening as we get closer to the date.
Bishop Michael Yeung has confirmed his participation in the Confirmation ceremony on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 at 4pm.

The Confirmation class just concluded their two-day retreat on February 7-8.  We would like to thank all the parents who volunteered to help out and acknowledge the retreat team made up of Anna Tan, John Mulligan, Donna Kraebel and Team Leader Joe White.  Please keep these students in your prayers as they prepare for their Confirmation.

Reminder - Cheshire Home Gift Bags: Gift bags and instructions on how to fill them were sent home with students (FHC level and above) two Sundays ago. Parents should work with their children to decorate and fill the bags, and send them back as soon as possible.  They can be dropped off all week in the box outside the parish office or at the CCD office from 9-11am on Sunday.  DEADLINE is Friday, December 5.

Confirmation Class News

Confirmation Class News
On Sunday, Nov. 16th and Nov. 23rd, the St. Anne's Confirmation Class students completed their Reconciliation and Rite of Enrollment.  

Thank you to the teachers, parents and priests who have all helped in bringing these students closer to our Lord. 

Special thanks to Peggie Fitch who provided the music for the  reconciliation ceremony.

  • November 2nd, 10:00AM, Parish Hall, mandatory parent meeting
  • November 15th, 2:00PM, mandatory Rite of Reconciliation.  Students must arrive between 1:15 and 1:30PM to prepare
  • November 23rd, 11:15AM, mandatory Rite of Enrollment and Mass Sponsorship
Parents are also reminded to ensure that all pertinent documents are uploaded to students' online registration and that photographs must be submitted now if not yet done so.
