Religious Education News

The Religious Education Team would like to thank all of the teachers, student assistants, parents and students for making this a successful year of Religious Education at St. Annes.  We are pleased to announce that more than 300 children completed the program this year with 70 students receiving Holy Communion for the first time and 18 students being Confirmed.  We are happy that so many parents willingly support the yearlong program, making the necessary sacrifices to ensure that their children are educated in our faith.

MAY CROWNING
Many of the children from the First Holy Communion classes returned last Sunday to the 11:15am Mass to crown Mary and to offer flowers to her, our Blessed Mother. Special thanks to Marc Forino for organizing this annual event.  Thank you also to the parents for your support in encouraging your children to participate in this tradition.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION BANNERS
Parents are invited to collect their child(ren)’s banners at the back of the church following the 8:45am and 11:15am Masses today and next Sunday, June 9th.  If you have any questions or require further information, please contact Pat Quong at 9764-0400.  Thank you for your co-operation.

CONFIRMATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION PHOTOGRAPHS
Details for the viewing and purchase of photos and/or DVD from the Confirmation Mass and both First Holy Communion Masses will be published on the website as soon as they are available. 

2013-14 CCD Classes:

The schedule for the 2013-2014 CCD year will be published soon, and on-line pre-registration for all CCD classes will begin in early June.  Please watch the bulletin or the parish website for details.  Once pre-registration commences, you may access the registration system through the parish website.  Due to renovation work in the school by the Diocese, we will have limited space available to us next year.  Please be sure to register online as soon as possible.  Completion of the registration process, for which you must attend in person, will take place in August, at which time you will pay the necessary fees and collect your child(ren)'s books.  If you have any questions, please contact a member of the CCD team at This email address is being protected from spambots. Please note that the Diocese requires that we obtain Baptismal Certificates for all students enrolling in the First Holy Communion classes and Baptismal Certificates as well as proof of First Holy Communion for all students enrolling in the two year Confirmation program. If you do not already have these documents, please obtain copies of them while you are home for the summer. 

The CCD program at St. Anne's relies upon volunteers to teach and administer the program.  Some of our teachers have already agreed to teach again next year, but we need many more volunteers to ensure that we can offer all classes.  Please consider giving of your time and talents to help educate our children in our faith.
